Company 43 was dispatched at 08:00 to 2145 Sixth Ave for a vehicle fire.  43-9 (Hudyma Sr) arrived on location and found an engine compartment well involved with extension to a fence and exposure to the house.  Engine 18 (Folsom) was added to the response and assisted the Crew from 43-2 with extinguishment and overhaul of the vehicle.   Later in the day at 17:19 the Company was dispatched to assist Company 18 on the building fire at 716 Evergreen Ave.   Upon arrival, crews from 18 were stretching the 1 3/4" into the house for the rear bedroom fire, Ladder 43's crew was given the order to remove the elderly bed ridden resident in the exposure building. After removing the resident, the crew headed to the roof for ventilation.  Crews from Squrt 67 laid the supply line and then advanced a back up line into the fire building.  Companies were on scene with extensive overhaul and assisting the Fire Marshalls with their investigation.  The company was in service for approx 2 hrs.
